This subject has been designed as a general course on highway engineering for students of civil engineering. In this course we present, study, discuss and practise (with problems and a course Project) with the knowledge of theory and practice on road design, construction and maintenance.The course explores the following concepts: types of roads and road networks, components of the road, geometrical design, drainage, infrastructure design and construction, road marking and signing, barriers, and design, construction and maintenance of pavements.
